Beginner golf players should be aware of different shots that are played in the game. Chip and pitch are two important shots played in golf. Chip is a typical short distance shot. It is played to hit the ball very close to the green. Such kind of golf shot makes the ball go into the green hole after traveling a short distance in the air. Chip is generally played from a distance of 10 meters from the green. Pitch is a long distance shot as compared to the previous one i.e chip. This shot is played with a high lofted golf club within a distance of 50 yards. Pitch is played to make the ball hit the target with higher accuracy. This shot uses a lesser swing compared to a full iron shot. Beginner golf players can also play chip shots with clubs with a higher loft. In such cases the flight of the ball needs to be decided before employing any kind of swing. Beginner golf players should know that a chip requires less movement of wrists while swinging the club. To gain accuracy in a chip shot the wrists and elbows should be used with an enhanced leverage. Pitch shots should be used after getting expertise in using chip while playing golf.
