mantle clock are clocks that are relatively small that are positioned above the fireplace or shelf or mantel. These kind of traditional wall clock were famous in france during seventeen fifties ( 1750’s). mantel clocks are usually comprised of wood, ormlu and porcelain. Ormlu is alloy which has the combination of mercury amalgam and high karat gold. Some times Bronze was mixed rather than gold to lessen its cost. I had one such clock in my family room. I suppose it was made of bronze and mercury amalgam as we aren’t so well off to cover gold. This mantel clock was running for around 90 years until it was mishandled by the movers while shifting. My grandfather was deeply depressed by this incident; it was so bad that I decided to replace it with my money. I simply googled about it and landed at www dot 1-800-4clocks dot com. I had no trouble to find the very same clock which was used by my family for decades. I just pulled out my credit card and bought it. This was my first investment and I am happy that I surely could restore the lost smile of my grandfather. I'd like to thank www dot 1-800-4clocks for their wonderful service.
