Although the earliest screen printing was done by the Chinese almost 2 millenniums ago, this technique was later picked up by the Japanese, who utilized woven silk to serve as the mesh and lacquer as their stencils. The use of silk inspired the term “silk printing” which later evolved to “silk screen printing”.
At present, although the basic techniques endure, the use of computers in making the principal designs has significantly affected the quality of custom screen printing. Aside from the remarkable number of ready-made patterns to choose from, designs can also be customized according to client preference
The development of the automated and rotary screen printing press and improved dryers also helped boost production rate. The sheer volume of designs created denotes that the finished products can be utilized in a great number of occasions and for limitless reasons.
Custom t-shirts are one of the most preferred products using screen printing. With the use of custom screen printing, it’s a simple matter to incorporate logos or any other design on t-shirts. And contrary to former practice of using these shirts specifically in school or for company use only, orders are pouring in for these custom T-shirts which are now being utilized for practically all reasons.
