Chaka Khan’s real name is Yvette Marie Stevens. She was born on March 23, 1953 in North Chicago, Illinois. Taka Boom is her sister which is a dance music artist. Mark Stevens is her brother is a member of the band Aurra. On Chicago's South Side was where Chaka was raised.

Chaka Khan is a Grammy Award-winning American singer-songwriter. She is known with songs like "Ain't Nobody", "Through the Fire", "I'm Every Woman", and "I Feel for You". The popular children's TV show Reading Rainbow, she was the one who sang a modernized theme song. Before she was lounge in a solo career, in the funk band Rufus, Chaka was featured vocalist with hit songs like ", "Once You Get Started", 'Sweet Thing", "Tell Me Something Good", "You Got The Love","Stay" and "Everlasting Love".

Throughout late 2009, it was confirmed that Chaka will be touring with Lulu and Anastacia2009 as part of the Here Come The Girls - The Tour.

On the song "Soul Survivor", was where Chaka appeared on Beverley Knight's new album 100% in the year 2009.

A Soul Train Legends award was won by Chaka on November 29, 2009.
