The Value of Being Professional Your Business Dealings
Thursday, May 20, 2010 0:39Past due payees tend to hide first and ask queries afterwards when it comes to repossession agents. The same thing is a fact when it pertains to process servers and the defendants against which the complaints have been filed. But are you aware that there are certain limits to what they can do to an individual?
Let's take the situation of a repossession agent out to take an automobile. Even if he is equipped with documents showing that his client has the right to claim the payee's property, he is still bound by the following limitations:
- He has no right to cause damage while doing his job.
- He has no right to pressure any individual.
- He could not seize the car if ever the owner is inside as this may cause potential damage on the owner.
- If the automobile is locked inside a garage, he is not entitled to force it open.
- Just in case the automobile is being protected by a dog, he has to withdraw since failure to do so can bring about damage to the dog.
Things are diverse whenever it comes to process servers. In the first place, he is not out to get anything from you. All he has to do is assist the legitimate documents to the defendant and get him to sign a form indicating the fact that he / she did so. However, this does not provide him the right to become brutal over the defendant. Dealing with the defendant together with the appropriate manners and showing that you value his security will go a long way in the eyes of the defendant.
On the whole, it doesn't matter if you are a repo agent or a process server, treating the people you are working together with in a professional way will get your work accomplished more quickly.
